Newcastle United are reportedly one of several Premier League clubs who are interested in West Brom youngster Reyes Cleary.

The teenager has already scored 30 goals this season – an incredibly tally. According to the Daily Mail, the Baggies have offered the 17-year-old a professional contract. He’s already made his senior debut this season.

However, the striker is yet to put pen-to-paper with the side who is managed by former Newcastle boss Steve Bruce, and the young Englishman’s impressive goalscoring exploits has caught the attention of several clubs, including German champions Bayern Munich.

Cleary made his West Brom debut when he came on to play the last 20 minutes of the FA Cup third round clash against Brighton in January.

He has also made the bench on one occasion in the Championship this season. But both of those first team involvements came under Bruce’s predecessor Valerien Ismael.

Despite Bruce’s torrid start to life at this new club, he hasn’t decided to place his trust in the talented teen.

As well as Newcastle, the Mail reports that Arsenal, Southampton and Everton have all expressed an interest in signing the youngster. Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen and Red Bull Salzburg have also reportedly gazed over his progress throughout the season.

With options aplenty, Cleary is likely to be swayed by his quickest route to first team football. In recent years some of the countries most talented prospects have opted to continue their development abroad, so a European move cannot be ruled out.

But if Cleary’s desires and wishes come down to joining an ambitious project, PIF’s long-term vision of getting Newcastle challenging for the biggest trophies in club football could see the Magpies blow the rest of the chasing pack out of the water.

There is likely to be some high-profile signings coming through the doors at St James’ Park in the summer, and although the capture of Cleary could fly under the radar, it could prove to be the best piece of business in the long-term judging by his burgeoning reputation.
