Dean Henderson reportedly still wants to leave Manchester United and join Newcastle United.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who state that the goalkeeper is ‘disappointed’ that a move to St James’ Park collapsed during the January transfer window.
Newcastle were linked with multiple goalkeepers last month, and the Manchester Evening News claimed that they launched a loan bid to sign Henderson from Man United. However, a deal wasn’t completed.
Eddie Howe has since commented on the rumours, telling TalkSPORT that there is ‘no truth’ in them.

However, the papers suggest otherwise. In the end, Newcastle failed to sign a new keeper, leaving Howe to stick with Martin Dubravka. Interestingly, the Slovakian reportedly turned down a deadline day move to Old Trafford.
Newcastle will surely revisit Dean Henderson in the summer
It was hardly a blow when Newcastle failed to sign a goalkeeper in January. Dubravka is a top quality stopper, and has actually been rather quiet in our previous two games.

There were much more pressing areas to improve, such as centre-midfield and the defence. With Dubravka as number one and Karl Darlow in reserve, our goalkeeping options are fairly solid.
But if we do survive in the Premier League this season, there could be wholesale changes to the squad in the summer.
The new owners will be looking to build a team that is capable of challenging much higher up the Premier League table.
And with Henderson the clear number two at Man United, he will likely once again be keen to leave the Red Devils.

He proved at Sheffield United what a talented goalkeeper he is, and at 24 can only get better.
Newcastle are making signings for the present and the future, and with that in mind it would be a shock if they weren’t once again linked with the England international in the summer.
Henderson is reportedly still keen, and will be watching on enviously as the Magpies rally to avoid relegation. They took a huge step towards that on Tuesday, beating Everton 3-1. Meanwhile, Henderson was on the bench as Man United slumped to a 1-1 draw with Burnley.
