Newcastle United have been linked with signing Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, and he now reportedly wants to leave Chelsea.
That’s according to 90min, who state that the winger is ready to push for a move away from Stamford Bridge in an effort to secure first-team football. The Guardian have also reported that he wants to move clubs this month.
Hudson-Odoi has already been left frustrated just one game into the new Premier League season. Chelsea beat Everton 1-0 on Saturday evening, but the 21-year-old wasn’t even named on the bench by Thomas Tuchel.

That should make Hudson-Odoi’s mind up for him, and it looks like he has plenty of suitors. It has been claimed that he has as many as 20 teams interested in his signature. Crystal Palace and West Ham are mentioned as possible destinations by 90min, while Borussia Dortmund are also reportedly keen.
Newcastle should pursue Hudson-Odoi as winger eyes Chelsea exit
Newcastle were first linked with the youngster last month, and he certainly fits the bill of what we’re looking for. Eddie Howe wants another option out wide, having failed to sign Moussa Diaby earlier in the window.
Hudson-Odoi would be an exciting alternative, and is someone who has been tipped to become a star for years. He was in the England setup in 2019 at the age of 18, and was described as ‘amazing‘ by Dele Alli.
Sadly, he just hasn’t received enough opportunities at Chelsea.

It looked like that was changing last season, then he was struck down by injury. A return to fitness hasn’t really brought about a return to action, and now Hudson-Odoi is keen to move.
Whether it’s on loan or a permanent deal, Newcastle could be a great place for him. He will have seen so many players thrive under Howe at St James’ Park. That could happen to him if he makes the move to the North East.
But plenty of clubs are interested in Hudson-Odoi, all of which are desperate to give him the chance he needs. That proves what a talent he can be, and why he would be an excellent addition to Howe’s squad.
