Bruno Guimaraes looks set to become Newcastle United’s third January signing.
After a frustrating second half of the transfer window that has seen deal after deal collapse, the Magpies finally appear to have made a breakthrough.
It was reported on Tuesday night that the club had made an offer for the Lyon midfielder. And now that offer has reportedly been accepted.

According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have agreed a fee in the region of £30million for the 24-year-old. They add that a medical is scheduled for later today.
That will take place in South America, with Guimaraes currently away on international duty.
Bruno Guimaraes agreement is huge for Newcastle
After seeing so many deals fall apart, this is fantastic news. So far this week, moves for Diego Carlos and Jesse Lingard appear to have collapsed.

It’s left Toon fans worried about future deals, but Lyon have relieved those fears and accepted an offer from Newcastle for their superstar midfielder.
This could be a landmark deal for the Magpies. He’s still very young, but has played in a top European league and in the latter stages of the Champions League. Guimaraes is also a three-time Brazil international, and won Olympic gold in Japan last year.
His qualities are exactly what Newcastle are looking for in a midfielder, which is why David Ornstein claimed he’s ‘everything’ Eddie Howe wants.

It looks like Howe is going to get exactly what he wants, with the Samba star seemingly closing in on a move to St James’ Park.
At £30million, he’ll become the club’s second most expensive signing ever. He’ll sit in between Joelinton and Joe Willock in the Toon transfer rankings.
A lot has been made about our transfer dealings this month. But the new owners deserve a lot of praise if they get this deal over the line.
