Newcastle United target Armando Broja still doesn’t know whether or not he’s going on Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the USA.
That’s according to the Athletic, who state that the Blues are scheduled to cross the Atlantic ocean tomorrow.
Thomas Tuchel’s side are travelling to America for friendlies against Club America, Charlotte FC and Arsenal. The likes of Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell and Timo Werner will be involved, but Broja is yet to find out if he’ll be on the plane.

This comes amid interest from other Premier League clubs. Newcastle are very keen after missing out on Hugo Ekitike. There is also rumours over a possible move to West Ham or Everton. He could even return to Southampton after last year’s loan spell.
Broja is a man in demand, but perhaps not at Chelsea.
Pre-season tour decision could speed up Broja decision
The fact Chelsea still haven’t decided whether Broja is going to America or not isn’t encouraging for the striker.

He’s keen to play regular football after making 38 appearances in all competitions for Southampton last season. He scored nine goals and got his first proper taste of Premier League football. His performances received praise from Alan Shearer, who described him as ‘clinical‘.
But if Chelsea aren’t even sure about taking him on their pre-season tour then he surely isn’t going to get the minutes he craves at Stamford Bridge. The writing could very much be on the wall for the 20-year-old.
This could all play into Newcastle’s hands, who are very keen to bring the striker to St James’ Park. He is reportedly open to a move too.
The Athletic add that Broja’s camp wanted his future to be decided before the club set off for their pre-season trip to the States. However, that is looking increasingly unlikely.

In truth, a move away from Chelsea feels increasingly likely. While Broja looked good last season, he perhaps isn’t at the level Tuchel wants.
While Romelu Lukaku’s move away increases Broja’s chances of featuring, they are also being linked with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo. That would dent the youngster’s chances of playing even further.
It feels inevitable that the Albania international will leave Chelsea this summer. But who will he join? Howe and co will be hoping it’s Newcastle, and a lot of fans will feel the same.
