Armando Broja is reportedly interested in joining Newcastle United this summer.
That’s according to i News, who claim the striker is open to a move to St James’ Park before the transfer window closes.
The Magpies are looking to sign Broja after their bid to land Hugo Ekitike collapsed. It looked like the Frenchman was set to head to Tyneside, but agent fees meant the move ground to a hault.
He now looks set to stay in France, while Newcastle look elsewhere.

Broja appears to be the forward they want, and his stance is a huge boost for Eddie Howe.
Armando Broja is exactly what Newcastle need
Newcastle are currently looking for attacking reinforcements, having initially focussed on defensive recruits.
That area the pitch is now stacked, but Howe now needs to add more goals to his side. That was an issue last season, with Callum Wilson ending the year as top scorer with eight. That’s despite the fact he only played 18 times.

Wilson’s fitness record means Newcastle need to sign a decent backup option, and Broja certainly fits the bill.
The Magpies are looking for a young player who can provide competition for their number nine. They also want someone who can potentially play anywhere across the front line.
the 20-year-old is certainly capable of that, and seems likely to leave Chelsea this summer. It’s difficult to see him getting a chance under Thomas Tuchel, especially if the Blues bring in Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, Newcastle do face competition for Broja. West Ham and Everton have also been linked with the forward who scored nine goals during a loan spell at Southampton last season.

But the Magpies are confident of a deal according to the Northern Echo. Whether it’s on loan or permanent remains to be seen, but a temporary move might be more beneficial.
That would allow Newcastle to spend more money elsewhere, and potentially land a blockbuster player like Moussa Diaby to play on the wing.
Signing Broja and Diaby would be a dream end to the summer for Newcastle. A move for the latter is going to be extremely difficult, but the noise surrounding the former is positive.
Newcastle want Broja, and he’s keen on the move.
