Fofana has been shining on a regular basis for his club this season.

The Frenchman has been instrumental in Lens’ terrific start, and his display against the biggest, and most would argue best, team in Ligue 1 was probably his best of the season so far.

Fofana was all-action in midfield for the hosts.

According to Statman Dave, Fofana enjoyed 70 touches, had 90% pass accuracy and created four chances.

He also got Lens’ goal, driving the ball from around 30 yards past Keylor Navas.

The goalkeeper might have done better, but there was some real venom in it from the 26-year-old.

Fofana probably deserved to be on the winning side, but ex-Toon star Gini Wijnaldum would spare PSG’s blushes by scoring in injury-time.

Fofana’s performance comes after the player was recently linked with a move to Newcastle.

Foot Mercato reported last month that the Magpies were showing interest in the star.

Apparently, Lens are not particularly under any financial pressure to sell. However, a large offer could tempt them into a sale.
