Ramon Planes has left Barcelona after agreeing to terminate his contract, amid links to Newcastle United.
The executive had a mixed bag during his time at the club.

Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele came in on his watch. But so did the likes of Pedri and Ronald Araujo.
It was reported recently that Newcastle had an interest in bringing him to St. James’ Park.
After confirming Eddie Howe as the new manager, the Magpies are now seeking to appoint a director of football to oversee recruitment and transfer dealings.
Marca claimed last week that Newcastle had made contact with Planes.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has tweeted an update about the situation.
A club statement read:” The club wishes to publicly express its gratitude to Ramón Planes for his commitment, professionalism and contributions throughout this last two years, and wishes him the best of luck and every success in the future.”
Michael Emenalo and Edwin van der Sar are also supposedly in the frame to become the new Newcastle director of football.
Could Ramon Planes be bound for Newcastle?
It could well be that Ramon Planes is ready to join Newcastle.
The Newcastle project is certainly something that would constitute a ‘new challenge’.

Whatever happens, Newcastle’s new owners need to make a decision soon.
They need to get an individual in place, who can work with new manager Eddie Howe to establish the right kind of targets ahead of the January window.
