At their very best, Newcastle United do not struggle for goals.
In the likes of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, Newcastle have two prolific strikers.
Isak has been in fine fettle this season, while Wilson remains a proven goalscorer at Premier League level. With Anthony Gordon also chipping in after adapting to life under Eddie Howe, the team are more than capable of racking up the goals.

Still, that’s not an absolute guarantee.
Isak is currently injured after missing a lot of his first season at the club with various issues, while few will need reminding about Wilson’s worrisome injury record.
With that in mind, transfer links with a new forward make sense.
Newcastle transfer news: Victor Boniface scouted
Indeed, according to The Sun, Newcastle have sent club scouts to run the rule over Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface.
The 22-year-old is spearheading his club’s Bundesliga title challenge and has scored nine goals in ten appearances across all competitions since moving to Germany from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.
The report suggests scouts watched him in action for Nigeria against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique over the international break and also add that Howe is keeping close tabs.

Who is Victor Boniface and what is his style of play?
Born in Nigeria and starting his career with Real Sapphire in Lagos, Boniface joined Bodo/Glimt in 2019. After impressing during his time in Norway, the forward finished joint with Marcus Rashford as the top scorer in the 2022/23 Europa League with six goals following his move to USG.
Having hit the big time with Leverkusen, the plaudits have followed. Having clocked in at a top speed of 32.93 km/h, pace is an obvious bonus.
Furthermore, the Bundesliga’s official website has even compared his early form to former Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, widely tipped as one of the best forwards in the game.
They describe his “clever movement and ability to lose his marker” as a trait he shares with the Poland international, as well as praising his control with both feet and in the air.
Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso, meanwhile, said his striker has been a “real problem” for opposing defences.
At 22, he could certainly be a signing for the future.
Wilson cannot go on forever and Isak will need help leading the line across a number of different competitions.
