According to 90Min, Newcastle United’s new owners want to make major changes.
The managerial position will obviously attract the most scrutiny and it would be a surprise if Steve Bruce was in charge against Tottenham after the international break.
But the sporting director role is also a priority, with various names under consideration.

Jason Wilcox at Manchester City and Stuart Webber at Norwich are apparently in the frame.
But so is Phil Giles, who is currently co-director of football at Brentford, according to the report.
He used to have a season ticket at St James’ Park and went to the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne.

Who is Phil Giles?
He’s been at Brentford since May 2015, in which team they have been promoted to the Premier League of course, using their data-based approach.
He told the Chronicle in 2015 that he is not afraid to take risks and do things differently in his role.
He also spoke about the importance of a club having a clear ‘vision’ of what it wants to be and where it wants to go.
That’s exactly what Newcastle need right now, although he would require the correct infrastructure around him if was to replicate his Brentford success.
Of course, Newcastle now have far more money and more historical prestige than Brentford, so a different approach might be needed.
It’s heartening that change is seemingly afoot behind the scenes, because that’s all important in terms of revolutionising Newcastle.
