Newcastle starlet Lewis Hall has received yet more recognition following his stunning breakthrough this year, as he has now been nominated for the Golden Boy award.
The prestigious award recognises the top player under the age of 21 in the world and has been won by the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Raheem Sterling and Erling Haaland in the past.
Hall, who joined this summer on a loan deal with an obligation to buy from Chelsea, has been listed as one of 100 nominees from around the globe and will be competing against Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala for the award.
He made the high-profile move to Newcastle this summer after initially agreeing to stay at Chelsea, and whilst he is yet to appear for his new club, there is a lot of excitement about his potential future at the club.
Fans can vote for Hall as part of the awards process here, and whilst he is unlikely to win the award, being recognised alongside the world’s best young players highlights what an incredible talent Newcastle have on their hands.
Top tier talent
Hall was the Player of the Year in Chelsea’s academy last season, and he made an impressive breakthrough into the first team despite the club’s chaos throughout the campaign.
Newcastle have done well to land a player with his potential, but he is yet to make his debut for the club. Whilst the 18-year-old is raw, it is surely only a matter of time before Eddie Howe gives him an opportunity to earn his place in the starting XI.

He was surprisingly an unused substitute against Brighton, as Matt Targett came into the team and dropped a disappointing performance in the absence of Sven Botman.
If Hall is given a chance to shine this season, it seems likely that he will be able to nail down a regular place, and he could potentially become Newcastle’s first-choice left-back for years to come, and he even trained with the senior England side yesterday, indicating that a bright international future could lie ahead for him.
