Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton continues to symbolise the new-found hope that is radiating around St James’ Park with a big performance against Manchester United.
The Brazilian was unplayable against Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United.
Even World Cup winner and multiple Champions League winner Raphael Varane couldn’t contain Newcastle’s new fan favourite.
The former Hoffenheim striker has been a revelation since Eddie Howe took over at the club, and he is relishing playing in a deeper midfield role which allows him to dominate teams with his phenomenal physical attributes and showcase his box-to-box qualities.
Against the Red Devils, Joelinton led all of Newcastle’s stats for chances created (3), interceptions (4), possession won (11) and ball carries (13), while only Emil Krafth (5) made more tackles than the 25-year-old, according to OptaJoe.

Joelinton looks like he is ready to run through brick-walls for his new manager and he is striking fear into the opposition every time he charges towards goal.
The club’s record signing looks a man reborn and his time on Tyneside has really ignited under the former Bournemouth boss.
But with star duo Allan Saint-Maximin and Callum Wlison possibly facing extended spells on the side-lines, Newcastle need their number seven to step up and lead the team more than ever.

With a favourable run of Premier League fixtures, Newcastle could be without the pair who are responsible for over 50% of our top-flight goals so far this season.
The need for January reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window will only intensify depending on the extent of the injuries sustained to Wilson and Saint-Maximin.
Teammates react to Joelinton’s performance against Manchester United
Following the clash at St James’ Park, Joelinton posted on Instagram sharing his appreciation for the fans who made it an electric atmosphere.
Joelinton’s performance saw him come in for high praise from his team mates…

Fans have already come out in support of Joelinton following an interview with a Sky Sports reporter after last night’s 1-1 draw where he won man of the match.
In the same interview, Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff was delighted with the recognition Joelinton was getting for his performances and said that the disrespect shown towards him was a disgrace.
Longstaff said: “If you ask anyone in the dressing room we all know he’s that good regardless of what the outside people say.
“I think the disrespect he gets is a disgrace. Every day in training he is the best player, if he is on your team you will win.
“I’m so, so happy for him and when I’m playing next to him he makes it so much easier.”
