Newcastle plan more changes behind the scenes after Eales and Ashworth arrival

Newcastle United are continuing to make changes behind the scenes after bringing in Darren Eales and Dan Ashworth.

The new owners have made a raft of changes since getting the keys to the club last October, and they made two major hires over the summer.

Dan Ashworth arrived to become the Magpies’ Sporting Director, then Darren Eales arrived. He became the club’s new Chief Executive Officer in August, having left his job at Atlanta United in America.

It means Newcastle have now filled key positions, and have top quality people calling the shots in each department. Eales deals with the commercial side of the club, while Ashworth focuses on giving Eddie Howe the tools to thrive on the pitch.

Amanda Staveley and co have completely shifted the landscape of the club, and more changes appear to be on the horizon.

Newcastle want to hire help for Eales and Ashworth

According to the club’s official website, Newcastle United are looking to hire an ‘Executive Assistant’ to help the club achieve its ‘ambitious’ goals during this ‘exciting time’.

The role is for ‘talented individuals’ who will support Eales and Ashworth in their jobs at St James’ Park. It appears that even after landing two major hires, the club are still looking to improve further.

This Executive Assistant will hopefully make the club more streamlined behind the scenes, and get the most out of Eales and Ashworth in their respective roles.

It appears that the new owners are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to take Newcastle to the top. While fans are focused on what happens on the pitch, it’s essential that we have a strong team making decision off it.

That never seemed to be the case during the Mike Ashley era, but everything has changed since Staveley, Jamie Reuben and PIF took control of the club.

The arrivals of Eales and Ashworth were major coups over the summer, and they will play a key role in any success Newcastle enjoy. And the arrival of an ‘executive assistant’ could allow the duo to be even more influential on Tyneside.
