The Newcastle United owners went on the St James’ Park pitch for a kickabout after Eddie Howe’s side beat Crystal Palace.

All three strands of the consortium were at the game, including PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan. It was the first game he’s attended since the humiliating FA Cup defeat to Cambridge in January.

The chairman has finally seen Newcastle win live, and joined the rest of the owners in the dressing room after the game to congratulate the players.

It was a special night for the Magpies, who made it six home wins on the bounce. It was also a special night for the owners, who ended up having a game of their own on the hallowed turf.

Watch Jamie Reuben nutmeg Mehrdad Ghodoussi

Multiple videos have surfaced of Al-Rumayyan on the pitch alongside Jamie Reuben and Mehrdad Ghodoussi. Amanda Staveley is also there, but doesn’t get involved in the kickabout, which was probably for the best given her footwear.

There were some audacious skills from the chairman, but the biggest moment came when Reuben nutmegged Ghodoussi. You can see footage below.

Ghodoussi’s legs are wider than the Tyne, while Reuben celebrates as if he’s netted a last minute winner for the Magpies. Fair play to him – Allan Saint-Maximin would’ve been proud of that. The Frenchman was at it last night too, with his dancing dazzling the Toon Army midway through the first half.

Staveley’s husband has responded to the clip on Twitter, claiming ‘that’s not me’. The video says otherwise, Mehrdad…

The owners also got involved in the team photo, as the players and coaching staff toasted another win.

There’s such a feelgood factor around Newcastle United right now. Relegation is no longer on the cards, with a top 10 finish suddenly a possibility. The new signings are thriving, while the older players are stepping up.

St James’ Park is rocking, with Wor Flags putting on incredible displays at every home game.

The hard work by the owners is already paying off, and they took time to enjoy themselves after Wednesday night’s 1-0 win.
