Hopefully Ryan Fraser isn’t too sensitive after Newcastle United mocked the winger on the club’s official Twitter account.

The countdown to the new Premier League season is very much on. The players have returned for pre-season, and our first friendly takes place on Saturday.

Eddie Howe’s side will face Gateshead in a behind closed doors encounter, and Fraser will hope to feature after missing the end of last season due to injury.

The Magpies kick off the 2022/23 Premier League campaign at home to Nottingham Forest. It’s set to be a great game at St James’ Park, and the club’s social media team are already counting down the days.

Newcastle face Forest in 33 days

As of July 4th, it is 33 days until the Magpies’ opening game. Newcastle have posted about this on social media, using Dan Burn’s shirt number to signify it.

The club have posted an image of Burn and his shirt, whilst also including a small nod to Fraser.

As you can see above, to the left of Burn is the top of Fraser’s head, symbolising the incredible height difference between the duo.

Newcastle have the tallest and shortest players in the Premier League, much to the amusement of fans.

Burn and Fraser appear to have struck up a good friendship since the former joined the club, and have made supporters laugh by purposely standing next to each other for photos.

They even hinted that Burn would piggyback Fraser onto the pitch for the final game of last season, only for the latter to miss out due to injury.

They are described as a ‘dynamic duo’ by the club’s social media accounts, and will hopefully take their impressive form from last season into the new campaign.

Luckily Fraser doesn’t seem sensitive about his height, and the club’s social media team can have some fun heading into the new season.
