Newcastle United have been linked with a shocking move for Juventus’ Aaron Ramsey.
As it stands, the Magpies are yet to make a breakthrough in the transfer market this summer.
They’ve been heavily linked with loan moves for Joe Willock and Axel Tuanzebe, with both deals proving to be difficult to complete.
Now Newcastle are reportedly asking about Aaron Ramsey.
That’s according to Goal, who state that they have asked Juventus whether or not the Welsh midfielder is available.
As far as ridiculous rumours go, this one is certainly up there.
Ramsey is a three-time FA Cup winner with Arsenal, while at Juve he’s won a Serie A title and a Coppa Italia. On top of that, he helped Wales reach the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
But despite the trophies, Ramsey has struggled at Juventus.
He signed a four-year deal in 2019, agreeing a contract worth £400,000-per-week.
And that is part of the reason why there is seemingly no chance of him swapping the black sand white of Juventus for that of Newcastle.
There is simply no way Newcastle can pay those kind of wages. Even a quarter of those wages would be huge for Steve Bruce’s side.
While Ramsey would be a sensational player who would excite supporters, the Toon Army are refusing to get sucked in by this ridiculous rumour.
With everything that has gone on this summer, it’s laughable that Newcastle have even been linked with the 30-year-old.
