TalkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy thinks Newcastle United should stick with Steve Bruce as manager.
That’s Steve Bruce, whose side are 19th in the Premier League and without a single win in all competitions this season.
It’s the same Steve Bruce who has won seven of his last 37 games at Newcastle.
The Magpies have been linked with a plethora of managers since the takeover was confirmed last week, most of whom would do a better job than Bruce.

The 60-year-old is expected to be sacked this week, but Murphy doesn’t think that’s the best thing to do because of Newcastle’s position in the table.
“They’ve got a manager at the moment in charge who’s been there done it at the lower echelon of the Premier League and dealt with that scenario before, even at Newcastle,” he said.
Murphy went on to add: “But coming into the Premier League, if you haven’t been in it before, into a relegation battle and understanding how to win games that aren’t always going to be free flowing or easy on the eye, who’s out there more equipped out than Bruce at the moment to do that? It’s a difficult one. No one jumps out at me.”
In short, Murphy hasn’t got much of an imagination. And he seems to forget that Newcastle are in this situation because of Bruce.
The Magpies currently have just three points, picking up three draws from their opening seven games. However, if they win one game they could move out of the bottom three.

Murphy’s argument about being in a relegation battle is slightly skewed, as it wouldn’t take a new manager long to move the club away from the bottom three.
It’s another typical TalkSPORT opinion that we shouldn’t be giving attention to, but here we are. Some of the claims coming out of that station are so outlandish that you have to wonder if they are genuine.
Newcastle fans aren’t having this one, and can’t wait for the moment Bruce’s time at St James’ Park is officially over.
