We’re yet to see Newcastle United’s third kit this season, but thank goodness it isn’t made by Puma.
The Magpies switched kit suppliers this summer, ditching Puma and agreeing a multi-year deal with Castore.
Castore’s bespoke kits have received a mixed reaction so far. The massive ‘four’ on the home kit was a huge blunder, but the away kit is rather smart.

The third kit is yet to be released, and there has been no information on when it will be revealed.
But Newcastle fans can count their lucky stars that it won’t be made by Puma.
The German kit manufacturer hit the headlines on Wednesday night, as they released a series of third kits for clubs across Europe.
To be polite, they’re absolutely horrendous.
The third kits are very different to your traditional shirt, with the name of the club written across the chest in big letters.
As for the badge, that provides part of the background of the shirt.
It’s an outrageous attempt from Puma, but one that has completely backfired.

Newcastle are very lucky, as you just know they’d have been subjected to this monstrosity if their jerseys were still made by Puma. Castore will have to do something very, very wrong to make a shirt worse than this.
Hopefully Manchester City don’t wear their new third kit when they head to St James’ Park in December.
