Newcastle United fans were glad to see the back of Steve Bruce last month.

The 60-year-old was sacked on October 20th, ending a terrible reign as Toon boss. The club regressed under Bruce, who became symbolic of the Mike Ashley regime.

Now Newcastle have new owners and a new manager, and are dreaming of a brighter future.

But could we see Bruce make a shock return to St James’ Park next month?

Newcastle take on Manchester United on December 27th, and the Red Devils will likely have a new manager on the touchline. They sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday after a 4-1 defeat to Watford.

Some big names have been linked with replacing Solskjaer, including the ex-Toon boss.

According to the Athletic, Bruce is keen on the job at Old Trafford, believing he can ‘stabilise’ the dressing room.

Newcastle fans and Bruce didn’t often see eye-to-eye during his tenure. But this time they agree.

Newcastle fans are with Bruce here. They think he deserves a chance to be Manchester United manager.

That’s despite the fact he recently said that he might not return to management, such was the abuse he received at St James’ Park.

But clearly he’s over it, and thinks he’s the man to get the best out of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes.

Newcastle fans agree, and have a clear message for Ed Woodward.
