Newcastle United fans are already impressed with Sven Botman after just 45 minutes of football.
The £35million signing came off the bench at half time against 1860 Munich, playing alongside Dan Burn and then Fabian Schar.
While he wasn’t tested defensively, Botman was really impressive in possession. It was his quick pass that kicked off the move that gave Newcastle the lead through Joe Willock.

The Dutchman has the potential to be a star in black and white, and the early signs are extremely promising.
Botman played in front of a handful of Newcastle fans on Friday, but is yet to feel the full force of the Toon Army. However, he has already been blown away by the supporters.
Botman is ‘so excited’ to see the Newcastle fans
The 22-year-old has to wait less than two weeks before he can play in front of the Newcastle crowd at St James’ Park. The Magpies have friendlies lined up against Atalanta and Athletic Bilbao one week before the new season begins.
There doesn’t appear to be many tickets left for either game – which has impressed Botman.

“I’m so excited to see them [the fans] in the stadium,” he told the club’s official website.
“I heard also that the friendlies are already almost filling up? It’s crazy. I’m just excited about what’s coming.”
Botman is in for a treat when Newcastle entertain Atalanta and Bilbao. They should be special occasions ahead of the new season.
It’s high quality opposition in front of a packed out St James’ Park. On top of that, Wor Flags are also planning displays for both games.

As a reminder, this is just for a couple of friendlies. Fans are desperate to watch and support the lads once again. We’ve already seen so many times this summer how desperate fans are for tickets.
Last season revitalised the Toon Army, and it should mean this year is going to be very, very special.
The atmosphere was electric at times last season, particularly in the final home game against Arsenal. St James’ Park became a fortress once again, and we need that to continue.
Botman is excited to play in front of the Toon fans, and so he should be. It will be a wonderful experience for him, and one he will cherish. And hopefully it’s something he will be experiencing for a long time.
