Newcastle United fans have been reacting to an Instagram post from former loan star Jetro Willems.
The full-back has been enjoying a bit of time off over the international break, after getting back into the swing of things with Bundesliga outfit Greuther Furth.
He joined them in the summer, after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt as a free agent.
It had been a struggle for Willems, after he suffered a serious knee injury whilst on loan at St. James’ Park.
He was forced to end his stint with Newcastle early, and he actually didn’t play a single minute last season.
Willems did return to the first-team picture and was available for selection since January. But he couldn’t work his way back into the side, and ultimately left for a fresh start.
He has found regular minutes again with Greuther, but it’s been a very tough start results-wise.
Like Newcastle, they are still winless in 2021/22. Currently, they sit bottom of the table having collected just one point so far.
Willems took time out from a tough season, and treated Newcastle fans to an interesting snap yesterday.
He met up with Magpies star Allan Saint-Maximin at a restaurant in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
He uploaded a photo of them both, with the caption ‘Reunion with my brother’.

Jetro Willems’ Instagram post was lapped by Toon supporters.
The Dutchman is still very highly regarded at St. James’ Park.
During his short time with the club he really impressed, and did form a very nice partnership with Saint-Maximin down the left side.
Fans have previously expressed their desire to see Willems return to the club.
Given the player’s injury, and him having just moved to Greuther, and obviously the takeover having gone through, there probably isn’t much chance of that happening now.
Regardless of that, Toon fans still loved to see Willems and Saint-Maximin reunited:
