Newcastle United have previously shown a willingness to wait when they decide on a player.
Indeed, Newcastle waited to sign both Sven Botman and later Anthony Gordon in the transfer windows after they were initially targeted.
Though they are capable of being reactive in the market (the signing of Tino Livramento reportedly being a prime example), the club tend to follow a coherent strategy when it comes to signing players.
So then, they could reportedly revisit a move for a player who rejected them this summer.
Hugo Lloris: Newcastle transfer latest
Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is understood to have emerged as a target during the summer window.
The World Cup winner, however, is believed to have snubbed the idea of a move.
Still, according to the Daily Mirror, Newcastle could relaunch their pursuit. They claim that while manager Eddie Howe does have faith in Martin Dubravka to step-up during Nick Pope’s injury absence, other options are being discussed.
David de Gea is said to be under consideration but decision-makers at St James’ Park are thought to rate Lloris highly.
The Frenchman, who has not played for Spurs this season, reportedly felt it was too late to move when Newcastle were interested in the summer.

Hugo Lloris transfer: Newcastle should avoid
Though a stop-gap during Pope’s lay-off makes sense, Lloris would be an almighty risk.
Granted, the 36-year-old is as experienced as they come and has previously starred in the Premier League but he has not played a game since Newcastle thrashed Spurs 6-1 and had hardly covered himself in glory until that point.
Newcastle might not be looking to sign a long-term goalkeeper for huge money at this stage of the season amid FFP worries too but surely they could do better than a veteran who has already said no to them.
