They take on Barnsley on May 1st, which is the final day of the Women’s National League Division One North campaign.

The Magpies will hopefully be celebrating promotion. They are currently in the midst of a fantastic season and sit top of the table.

It’s set to be fantastic occasion at St James’ Park, and Ghodoussi has expressed his delight at the news on Twitter.

Hopefully there will be a huge crowd inside St James’ Park. The fixture doesn’t coincide with any men’s games, with Eddie Howe’s side facing Liverpool the day before.

And with ticket prices so cheap, there should be plenty of people in the stands cheering them on.

Ghodoussi and Amanda Staveley have shown a keen interest in the women’s team following the takeover last year. They are looking to transform every aspect of Newcastle United.

The co-owners have often watched the women’s team play, showing they aren’t only interested in Howe’s side.

From helping the women’s team to improving the stadium, the new ownership is making a difference at every level possible.

Ghodoussi travelled with the first-team squad to Dubai, where the players have been put through their paces on a warm weather training camp. It’s the second trip of 2022, with the Magpies heading to Saudi Arabia in January.
