Manchester United’s new owners are clearly fond of what is going on at Newcastle United.
They are already poaching Dan Ashworth from St James’ Park, with the 52-year-old now placed on gardening leave by the Magpies following interest from Manchester United. He looks set to head to Old Trafford, but only if the Red Devils pay Newcastle the compensation they are looking for.
But Dan Ashworth is not the only Toon figure who Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co are fond of. However, this one will be much tougher to prise away from Tyneside.
Manchester United’s new owners really like Tino Livramento
According to 90min, Manchester United’s new owners are big fans of Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento.
The report from 90min states that INEOS are actually surprised that Man United did not try to sign Livramento from Southampton last summer.
Instead, the 21-year-old swapped St Mary’s Stadium for St James’ Park. Newcastle invested heavily in Tino, paying £32million for a backup right-back.

Livramento was signed with the idea that he will eventually replace Kieran Trippier in the Toon starting XI, while also providing extra cover this season.
He has certainly done that, and a lot of fans are keen to see the defender play every week. Livramento has proven that he can operate on the right or the left, and Howe has even admitted that he has been ‘incredible‘ on his weaker side.
With the ability that Livramento has got, Newcastle might not need to sign a senior right-back for the next 10 years. That is how good he is.
And that is why the new investors at Man United are puzzled by the fact that they did not make a move for him last summer. INEOS want to invest in young players for the future, and that is also Newcastle’s approach.
The Magpies have struck gold in Livramento, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co looking on enviously. But, unlike Ashworth, they will not be able to steal Tino from us.
