It seemed as though talk of Sean Longstaff joining Manchester United was over, but Friday brought a fresh update.
The Mirror reported that the Red Devils are confident about securing a £25million deal for the midfielder, who broke into the Newcastle team during the second half of last season.

The report led with the headline: “Man Utd closing on £25m Sean Longstaff transfer as Red Devils look to sign Newcastle star”, which made things sound like a deal is close.
But the article then downplayed things slightly, stating that Manchester United are “confident they can clinch a £25million deal”. So which is it? Are they closing in or are they just confident they can sign him?
