Eddie Howe is reportedly keen for Newcastle United to appoint Michael Edwards as their director of football.
The new manager has now started work at the club after being confirmed on Monday.
He was in nice and early yesterday and took his first training session.
The club released photos and video clips, with supporters delighted with the energy on show from their new head coach.
Howe has a huge job on, but he has every chance of keeping the team up given his fantastic mind and work ethic.
If the recruitment is right in January, then there will be a strong chance of survival.
Getting the recruitment right is paramount, and Newcastle therefore need to ensure they make the right director of football appointment.
Supposedly, Howe would be keen to link up with Edwards, the sporting director at Liverpool.
Edwards, has played a key role in the Reds’ transfer dealings over the past few years.
It is largely thanks to him that Jurgen Klopp now has a team of superstars.
Edwards is actually out of contract the end of the current season, and it is thought he could be now be set to move on.
Howe worked with Edwards at Portsmouth in the early 2000s.
