Lewis Cass is reportedly set for another loan spell away from Newcastle United.
According to Chronicle reporter Lee Ryder, the defender is heading to Port Vale for a medical ahead of a season-long loan.
Cass is set to get his first taste of the football league, having spent the previous campaign in the National League.
The youngster joined Hartlepool in October last year, and played an important role in the Pools winning promotion.

But while they are set to return to League Two, Cass will be lining up against them this season.
According to Ryder, Cass has been a man in demand, with multiple EFL clubs interested in snapping him up temporarily, as well as teams north of the border.
The Hartlepool Mail have reported that the Pools wanted to re-sign Cass, but it looks like Port Vale are going to secure his services instead.
Lewis Cass loan essential to his development
This is set to be another important year for the young defender.
The 21-year-old will no doubt have aspirations of playing in the Premier League for Newcastle, and a strong season in League Two will only boost his chances.

Moving to Port Vale will be a fresh challenge for Cass. While he could have returned to Hartlepool, he will now have to deal with being further away from home, as well as settling in at a new club.
Cass has came close to the Newcastle first-team before.
In Rafa Benitez’s final game as manager, a 4-0 win away to Fulham, Cass was an unused substitute. He was also part of a Steve Bruce squad that faced Rochdale in the FA Cup in 2020.
If Cass can impress at Port Vale, perhaps he’ll make his Toon debut in 2022.
