When you have a player labelled the ‘best striker in the world’ you don’t want to sell him if you can help it, so Napoli have moved to slap a huge transfer fee on their Newcastle United-linked forward.
After winning their first Scudetto in 33 years, the last thing Napoli want is to lose all their best players. Kim Min-Jae looks to be on his way to Germany and speculation surrounding their star man, Victor Osimhen‘s future has been rife for months.
Even after achieving a Serie A title, there are still no guarantees Napoli can keep hold of Osimhen with clubs such as Newcastle, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain linked to the 24-year-old.
Napoli are doing all they can to keep hold of Victor Osimhen
According to a report on Get Football News France, Napoli have slapped a €180million (£155million) price tag on the player described as ‘the best striker in the world, better than Haaland‘.
That might not put off free-spending PSG, but I’m sure that all but ends Newcastle’s interest in the Nigerian.

Newcastle’s interest was probably exaggerated by the media anyway as it was never likely that we would stump up the sort of figures that were bandied around in the early days of our links to Osimhen, never mind forking out Kylian Mbappe money for him.
We are a long way off making that kind of transfer when it comes to the PIF‘s project. While the club are ahead of schedule in terms of attaining Champions League football, our rapid rise will come at a cost.
Newcastle will find a much cheaper alternative thanks to Dan Ashworth
A slower rise to the top would have seen our financial potential with regards to Financial Fair Play rise alongside the on-pitch achievements, but now, we have the European adventure, but we lack the FFP maneuverability to truly compete, which is why we are having to box clever in the transfer market.

Of course, if any club can unearth gems these days it’s Newcastle United. Dan Ashworth‘s scouting network are constantly on the look-out for the next big thing that won’t break the bank.
Besides, we have Alexander Isak, we don’t need no Osimhen. But we could do with some backup for Isak and Callum Wilson.
