It would be fair to say Jonas Gutierrez is a cult hero at Newcastle United.
He scored the goal which saved Newcastle from relegation in 2014/15 after recovering from cancer.
The atmosphere at St James’ Park that day was electric; one of the best of the dismal Mike Ashley era.
And the Argentine midfielder has reacted to the new dawn at his former club on Twitter.
Gutierrez is still playing football, at the age of 38, for Club Atlético Banfield in his native Argentina.
He made 205 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle and it is clear the club still holds a place in his heart.
The affection is mutual, and Jonas would be welcome back at St James Park anytime if he wants to come and celebrate the new era in person.

He was treated shoddily at the end of his time with the club, especially in light of what he achieved and what he had been through.
It is to be hoped that the new regime deal with important figures from the history of the club with more decorum and grace.
That is all part of reconnecting the club with its fans who watched it wither and become cold under Ashley.
