Good news is in short supply at Newcastle United right now, but some has come Steve Bruce’s way.
Joe Willock was forced off in the first half of the 2-1 loss at Wolves on Saturday, and the Daily Mail have an update on his injury.
They report that Willock will be fine to face Tottenham after the international break.
Perhaps the former Arsenal man will be fired up to score against their north London rivals, like he did last season.
Willock was Newcastle’s only summer signing and being without him for any length of time would dampen spirits even further.
With Callum Wilson back in light training too, Bruce’s side next time out could carry some more attacking threat.
Spurs are not exactly a club full of optimism right now themselves, although they have put together two straight wins.
Bruce’s tactics were still confused at Molineux, moving Isaac Hayden from an advanced midfield role to centre-half before 45 minutes had even passed.
But if Willock is passed fit, that does at least increase the chances of a good result.
And with every passing week, Newcastle and Bruce become more desperate for one of those.
