For the fourth Premier League game in a row, Newcastle failed to score.
The Magpies’ woes in front of goal refuse to go away. Even a more attacking formation failed to spark Newcastle’s strikers into life.
The 4-2-3-1 system certainly helped Steve Bruce’s side get in more offensive positions, but were still unable to find the net.

Newcastle had 22 shots against Burnley, but only four were on target.
And while Newcastle were struggling to break down a stubborn Burnley side, a player they should’ve signed in January was scoring his first Premier League goal.
Bowen opens his West Ham account
Jarrod Bowen was the player fans wanted to arrive in January. But on deadline day, it was West Ham who secured his signature for £22million.
And on his first start for the Hammers he scored his first goal. Bowen gave West Ham the lead against Southampton, as David Moyes’ side won 3-1 to move out the relegation zone.

Despite creating more chances than usual, Newcastle were still unable to get a goal.
Bruce’s decision not to sign a goalscorer in January seemed like a massive risk, especially when Bowen was available.
But the Magpies decided against moving for the 23-year-old. Will it come back to bite them? The early signs suggest the answer is yes.
