Newcastle United are set to be handed some positive injury news ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.
The Magpies head to Wembley to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final next month, and Eddie Howe will obviously want to deploy his strongest XI.
That XI would include Joelinton, but he is currently out of action. Joelinton suffered a knee injury against Fulham, and has not played since. He has been seen, however, with Joelinton celebrating beating Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg.
But Toon fans want to see the 28-year-old on the pitch, as he is a key part of the Magpies’ midfield alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali.

When Joelinton will return from injury
Eddie Howe recently said Joelinton should be fit for the Carabao Cup final, and it looks like that will be the case.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who have reported that Joelinton is hoping to return from injury in time for Newcastle United’s FA Cup clash with Brighton on March 2nd.
That would mean that the Brazilian misses two more games, with the Magpies facing Liverpool on Wednesday night after this weekend’s clash with Nottingham Forest.
It would also mean Joelinton has two games to build up his match fitness before Wembley, with Newcastle having just one more game before the cup final after they face Brighton in the FA Cup. That is against West Ham in the Premier League.

Joelinton update is bad news for Newcastle United teammate Joe Willock
Howe will be delighted that Joelinton is on course to be fit in time for the cup final. It is even better that he will have a couple of games to regain his sharpness after this untimely layoff.
However, it is bad news for the other Newcastle United midfielders who were hoping to capitalise on Joelinton’s absence.
It is particularly bad news for Joe Willock, who had been chosen to replace Joelinton last week against Manchester City. If the 25-year-old could put a run of form together, he could have given himself a chance to start at Wembley on March 16th.
Unfortunately for Willock, he did not play very well at the Etihad Stadium and was hooked at half-time. He squandered his opportunity to make himself a regular starter once again, and it remains to be seen if he will be in the Newcastle United starting XI against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
In our predicted Newcastle XI to face Nottingham Forest, Lewis Miley starts in midfield ahead of Willock.
