Isaac Hayden and Paul Dummett have reacted to the announcement of the Newcastle United takeover.
The deal has finally been confirmed. Mike Ashley is no longer the owner of the Magpies.
With our new owners, this can be the start of an incredible era at St James’ Park.
It’s an exciting time for fans, and it will also be exciting for the players as well. Suddenly they play for one of the richest clubs in the world.
Hayden has given his views on the deal, stating it is ‘exciting times’ for the Magpies.
“Exiting times for the club and the city of Newcastle. Enjoy your cans NUFC fans,” he wrote.
Hayden’s teammate Paul Dummett took a different approach to the takeover news.
The left-back, who came through the club’s academy and is a local lad, decided to poke fun at Newcastle’s biggest rivals Sunderland.
Dummett wrote on Twitter ‘Meanwhile in Sunderland…’, accompanied by a picture of the Black Cats’ League One playoff defeat to Lincoln earlier in the year.
While Dummett’s tweet is hilarious, who cares about them lot down the road?
This is a historic day for Newcastle United. The Ashley era is over, and fans can have hope once again.
The first game for the new regime will be at home to Tottenham on October 17th, and the atmosphere inside St James’ Park will be out of this world.
