Bruno Guimaraes does not seem to be happy after reading what a Newcastle United fan account asked on Twitter after the defeat to Manchester City.
The Magpies were beaten 1-0 on Saturday night. While the scoreline was close, the game was not. Man City kept us at bay, with Eddie Howe’s side struggling to create chances at the Etihad.
It was a difficult watch at times, and led to a lot of disappointment on social media after the game. That is always the case after a defeat – even if it is to the best team in the world.
However, there were a lot of Newcastle fans on Twitter who were not happy after the 1-0 loss. Expectations have gone up massively, so perhaps it was a bit of a reality check to see us struggle so much.
But Bruno is not happy with the suggestion that some individuals should be blamed by supporters.

Bruno Guimaraes reacts angrily to Newcastle fan post
Following the game, Newcastle fan account NUFC360 asked their followers on Twitter a couple of questions.
Firstly, they asked if it was too early in the season to blame individual players, then they asked if there had been an overreaction to the defeat to Manchester City.
The questions were accompanied by an image of Miguel Almiron, Joelinton, Bruno and Dan Burn.
The 25-year-old took issue with the post, replying: “Is this serious? We are in champions league football we lost against maybe one of the best teams in the world and we have a big win and lost one game! Support in the best moment is easy! Short stupid memories you all have. Look what we have done for the team this 1 year and half.”
The tweet has now been deleted.

Bruno is spot on
It is a pretty scathing response from Bruno, but he is completely justified.
The reaction to Saturday night’s loss was completely over the top from some fans. Sure, it is easy to be annoyed and frustrated during the game, but common sense must prevail in the aftermath.
After the Villa game, we were being talked up as title contenders and this team could do no wrong. Seven days later and it is doom and gloom after losing to the Premier League and European champions.

Sadly, the reaction is what you come to expect on social media. The real issue is when the complaints are inside the stadium.
As Bruno says, this Newcastle team have achieved so much in such a short space of time. They deserve our support in victory and defeat.
For a long time the motto was ‘we don’t demand a team that wins, we demand a club that tries’. Some supporters would do well to remember this.
