Newcastle United are aiming to keep their resurgent form going this weekend but it won’t be easy against a red hot Nottingham Forest.

After a difficult October, Newcastle United have enjoyed a fantastic start to November by picking up back-to-back wins over Chelsea in the Carabao Cup and Arsenal in the Premier League.

It was just what Eddie Howe needed to mark the third anniversary of him joining the club and now he’ll be looking to keep building momentum.

However, Sunday’s fixture with Nottingham Forest is now a lot tougher than it looks on paper. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have climbed up to third in the table after winning their last three games and losing just once so far.

Former Mag Chris Wood is also in fine scoring form, with his eight strikes only bettered by Erling Haaland, which will no doubt be concerning for Newcastle fans.

Here is everything you need to know about a tricky-looking away trip.

Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle United team news

For once, Newcastle don’t have any fresh injury issues going into a game and could even welcome Jacob Murphy back into the fold after his minor problem.

In his pre-match press conference, Howe said, “I don’t think we are missing anyone new.

“Jacob Murphy should be OK for Sunday. We are still working on getting the injured players back – they are all making progress.”

However, they remain without Callum Wilson, Sven Botman, Jamaal Lascelles and Kieran Trippier.

Forest, meanwhile, are without Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare.

Prediction

This is yet another really difficult match to predict. Nottingham Forest are full of confidence thanks to their remarkable run of form yet Newcastle have just beaten Chelsea and Arsenal.

However, it’s been a trend for the Magpies to perform better against the bigger sides this season, having also drawn with Manchester City, only to lose to teams they would have expected to beat.

It’s hard to know where Forest place on the spectrum at the moment given their lofty position, so an exciting draw may well play out.

Prediction: Forest 2-2 Newcastle.
