How much money Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe would demand to manage England

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is consistently being linked with the England job.

Sadly, given how long the reports have been going on for, Newcastle will most likely have to deal with it until a new Three Lions boss is appointed.

Indeed, there have been conflicting reports coming out about the Newcastle United manager.

There are suggestions Howe has little desire to leave St James’ Park, while other outlets are claiming he is privately open to the idea of managing his country.

Before that’s even an option, however, the Football Association (FA) would have to enter a negotiation with Newcastle over a potential move for their manager.

Now, some insight into how much money Howe would be looking for has emerged.

Eddie Howe’s potential salary as England manager

According to GIVEMESPORT, Newcastle would be willing to negotiate with the FA if they were to pay a compensation package worth around £5million.

For his part, Howe himself would look to command a yearly salary of more than £5million, which would make him one of the more expensive hires the FA could make.

It is also claimed that such demands from both Howe and Newcastle are reasons why the FA have not yet made a move.

Eddie Howe is not England’s dream manager

Howe has a significant list of achievements in his coaching career and looks a logical target for the FA.

Still, other options may be more compelling at this stage.

Indeed, recent reports from the Daily Mail suggest Pep Guardiola is in fact the FA’s dream candidate as he approaches the end of his contract with Manchester City.

Whether or not appointing Guardiola is a realistic possibility is obviously up for debate but it seems he’s the ideal candidate as things stand.

That could be very good news for Newcastle indeed…
