Rio Ferdinand has been so impressed with exciting teenage midfielder who Newcastle United have been keen on signing.
News emerged a couple of months ago that Newcastle were considering the idea of bringing Roony Bardghji to Tyneside after some impressive performances with Copenhagen.
Speaking on TNT Sports for Manchester City’s Champions League tie against the Danish side, Ferdinand shared just how good he’s been every time he’s watched him play live.
Ferdinand so impressed with Newcastle target
Bardghji has received some huge praise over the last few months after bursting onto the scene this season scoring seven goals in 17 games in the Danish first division.
The teenager also netted a brilliant last-minute goal against Manchester United in the Champions League group stage which secured Copenhagen all three points and eventually a place in the knockout rounds.
Several teams are believed to be interested in signing the Swedish youth international as he looks to be set to have a very bright future in football given the right coaching.
Prior to the game last night, Ferdinand was in awe of how easily Bardghji seemed to find it slotting in to the team at such a young age, and it will all be music to Newcastle’s ears as they continue their pursuit.
On Bardghji, Ferdinand said: “He has a name already, so he seems accustomed to that. He doesn’t seem fazed at all. Whenever I have seen him it looks like he should be there. It seems like he wants to be there. And he has got the ability. He seems like a name we are going to hear more about.”

Newcastle continue to look to build a youthful squad
Newcastle currently have several young players on their radar as they continue to look to build a team that is set for the long-term future having already signing a number of talented young stars.
The likes of Tino Livramento, Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali are all very promising and could be at Newcastle for the next decade if everything goes to plan.
It’s easy to see why they would then want to also bring Bardghji to the North East, but it’s easier said than done with so many eyes already on the young midfielder waiting to see if they’ll be able to sign him in the summer.
