The return of Anthony Gordon to the Newcastle United starting lineup was a major boost on Saturday.
Hailed for his performance as Newcastle thrashed Crystal Palace at St James’ Park to prepare for the clash against Borussia Dortmund, the 22-year-old got his goal after sitting out the draw at West Ham through suspension.
It was another successful outing for the Gordon, who continues to go from strength to strength under Eddie Howe on Tyneside.

Now a key player in the first-team, he’s certainly got the love of his teammate.
Anthony Gordon: Harrison Ashby has one word for Newcastle star
Indeed, Harrison Ashby was particularly impressed by the forward.
The two players both arrived in January but have gone on different journeys since. While Gordon is proving worth every penny of the £40m Newcastle paid to sign him, Ashby saw Tino Livramento arrive this summer to increase competition for places behind Kieran Trippier.
Still, he’s been impressed by the player who moved to St James’ Park alongside him.
Loaned out to Swansea, the defender still took the time to react to Gordon’s performance, replying “Bagsman” to the forward’s Instagram post celebrating the win and his goal.

Anthony Gordon: England must consider Newcastle star
Excellent for the England U21s during their victorious Euros campaign this summer, Gareth Southgate must surely be considering taking a look at Gordon soon.
For the Three Lions manager, it must be getting harder and harder to ignore the level of his form.
Gordon now has three goals and two assists in seven starts this season. A vitally important member of the squad, he could be gatecrashing the England set-up just at the right time ahead of Euro 2024.
Clearly, the priority must be Newcastle but it would be fantastic to see him rewarded for really turning his club career around.
