Garang Kuol will officially become a Newcastle United player in January 2023, and the forward is already excited to experience St James’ Park.

The move was confirmed on Friday morning, after the 18-year-old underwent a medical and signed a multi-year deal with the Magpies.

He is expected to be loaned out, with The Age claiming that a move to Portugal is most likely. That is because he is currently ineligible for a work permit in England.

While it might be some time before we see Kuol play for Newcastle, it is incredibly exciting to see this transfer finalised. Dan Ashworth and co beat some top clubs to his signature, and they will hope he becomes a future star on Tyneside.

Kuol seems like the type of player that fans will love. He is quick and direct and will get supporters on the edge of their seat.

Garang Kuol on St James’ Park

After the move was announced, the club released their first ever interview with Kuol. And he was asked what his immediate reaction was when he stepped inside St James’ Park for the first time.

“Shock”, he said.

“It’s a massive stadium, it’s a beautiful structure. It was unreal.”

Man of few words Kuol can become a star at SJP

Based on his first ever interview with the club, it appears that Kuol is a man of few words. Perhaps he’s just shy. But that doesn’t matter if he performs on the pitch.

And he certainly has the potential to be a hit in black and white. That’s why the club have moved to sign him now, despite the fact he initially can’t play for Newcastle.

He is one for the future, as Ashworth assembles an exciting crop of youngsters who will hopefully rise through the ranks.

We have seen multiple teenagers sign for Newcastle since the Sporting Director’s appointment. But Kuol is the pick of the lot.

He will be excited to show Toon fans what he can do, and is already impressed with the club’s stadium. Just wait until he sees it full and rocking!
