Newcastle United have a very special manager in Eddie Howe, much to the envy of others.
Under his guidance, Newcastle United have gone from relegation certainties to Champions League competitors and trophy winners.
Howe blew Newcastle officials away when he was interviewed for the job, and he has gone on to hit unimaginable heights. He is an incredible coach, and a reason why plenty of players have chosen to move to St James’ Park.
Jacob Ramsey cited Howe as a reason for joining Newcastle, while Nick Woltemade spoke very highly of the gaffer following his arrival from Stuttgart.
Newcastle need to keep Howe at the club for as long as possible, but there are currently no concerns that he could be looking for a new opportunity.

Eddie Howe is very happy at Newcastle United
Following the 2026 World Cup, the England job will be available. Thomas Tuchel only signed up for that tournament, and the FA will no doubt have another look at Eddie Howe when they ponder who should be the next England manager.
Elsewhere, Ruben Amorim is under pressure at Manchester United. Pundits have debated Howe replacing Amorim at Old Trafford, but his priority remains Newcastle United.
According to the Telegraph, Howe is ‘extremely happy’ with his role as Newcastle United manager.
The report states that his family are happy and settled in the North East, while Howe thinks the club are on the right path to regularly challenge for trophies and compete in the Champions League.
That will be music to the ears of the Toon Army and the Newcastle United owners, who struck gold when they appointed Howe as Steve Bruce’s replacement four years ago.
So much has been achieved since the PIF takeover, and that is largely because of the manager.
Newcastle United want Eddie Howe to be their Sir Alex Ferguson
Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi could not hide their delight after bringing in Howe as manager.
They spoke incredibly highly of Howe following his arrival, with Ghodoussi even admitting to the Athletic that they had visions of the former Bournemouth boss becoming Newcastle’s answer to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.
“I would love Eddie to be the next Alex Ferguson,” Ghodoussi said in February 2022.
Staveley replied: “Yeah, I would. We know Eddie has the ability to keep us up. And it was always with a view to a long-term future. We hope and think that Eddie will be with us for a very long time.”
It seemed a bold statement at the time, but Howe is very much on that path. Ferguson had all of the power at Manchester United, which is uncommon in football nowadays.
But Howe is bucking the trend, with Newcastle giving Howe whatever they can to help him do his job. He was backed to the tune of £250million this summer, with six new signings arriving at St James’ Park.
Most recently, Newcastle appointed Ross Wilson as sporting director. It was a decision that was backed by Howe, who will see Wilson as an ally. That is a complete contrast to Paul Mitchell, who appeared to go to war with Howe immediately after his appointment as sporting director in 2024.
Howe is happy at Newcastle United, and the club are giving him every reason to be. His team are delivering on the pitch, while the owners are creating an environment for him to thrive even more.
