Newcastle United are closing in on a deal to sign Tino Livramento, and already have an idea of when he could make his Toon debut.
The Magpies made a breakthrough on Thursday, finally agreeing a fee with Southampton to bring the 20-year-old to St James’ Park.
Livramento is going to cost Newcastle £35million, with a medical now set to take place on Tyneside ahead of the deal being finalised.
The defender is now set to become Newcastle’s third senior signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes.
They are both expected to make their St James’ Park debuts this weekend in the Sela Cup, and the Magpies are reportedly hoping that Livramento can do the same.

When Newcastle want Tino Livramento to make his Toon debut
According to Newcastle World, Newcastle are hoping that the Livramento deal can be completed in time for him to play in one of the two games that are set to take place this weekend. The Magpies face Fiorentina on Saturday and Villarreal on Sunday.
It would be a real treat for the supporters if Livramento is able to make his debut, as they prepare to watch their team at St James’ Park for the first time since May.
It would serve as an immediate chance for Livramento to learn about his teammates and how the manager wants his team to play, as Howe makes his final preparations ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

Newcastle’s first game of the season is on August 12th at home to Aston Villa. Kieran Trippier looks certain to start next week, but he will now have a much stronger understudy once Livramento signs on the dotted line. He will provide cover for the England international, with the overall goal being to replace him in the coming years.
But with a transfer fee and personal terms agreed and a medical booked in, it very much looks like Livramento is set to become a Newcastle United player, and we could see him playing on the St James’ Park turf in the next 48 hours.
