Newcastle United have received a massive injury boost ahead of facing Chelsea.
Eddie Howe’s players are preparing to take on Chelsea on Sunday, as they battle it out for a place in next season’s Champions League.
It is Newcastle’s biggest Premier League game of the season, with St James’ Park expected to be rocking.
Newcastle will be without Joelinton against Chelsea. He is out of action with a knee injury, and is unlikely to play again this season.
But while Joelinton is ruled out, the Magpies have received some good news ahead of taking on Enzo Maresca’s side.

Newcastle United star trains ahead of Chelsea
Fabian Schar was substituted during stoppage time of Newcastle’s draw with Brighton.
After the game, Howe was unsure if the centre-back was merely suffering from cramp or actually had a muscle injury.
That had made him a doubt for Sunday’s game, but it now looks as if the 33-year-old will be fit to feature against Chelsea.
Sky Sports News were live at the Newcastle United training ground on Thursday morning, as the first-team squad continued their preparations for the Chelsea game.
Schar was spotted alongside his Toon teammates, which would suggest he will be available this weekend.
Fabian Schar’s incredible Newcastle United record
With Schar seen in training, it is extremely likely that he will start in defence against Chelsea alongside Kieran Trippier, Dan Burn and Tino Livramento.
That will give the defender a chance to add to his remarkable goal tally this season.
In all competitions, Schar has scored six times for Newcastle. It is his best season ever in terms of goals for the Magpies, eclipsing his tally of five from the 2023/24 campaign.
However, Schar needs to get to work if he is to make this the best scoring season of his entire career.
In the 2012/13 season, he scored eight times in all competitions for Basel.
