Eddie Howe won back-to-back games as Newcastle United manager on Tuesday night.
It was a sensational evening inside St James’ Park, as the Magpies beat Everton 3-1 to move outside of the relegation zone for the first time since September.
It’s the first time since Howe became manager, and it’s the first time since the change of ownership.

Tuesday night felt like a significant moment in Newcastle United’s season. The new players clicked, and the Toon originals stepped up as well.
Attentions now turn to Sunday when Aston Villa arrive at St James’ Park. It’s another chance to put some points on the board, but it should be a much tougher game against Steven Gerrard’s side.
But if Newcastle do win, Howe will have done something that Steve Bruce never did as Magpies boss – something they haven’t done since Rafa Benitez was in charge.

Newcastle and Howe go in search of third consecutive win
Newcastle followed up their 1-0 win over Leeds with a 3-1 triumph against Everton. Beat Aston Villa and it’ll be three Premier League wins on the bounce.
That would be a sensational achievement for Howe. And it would also end a lengthy spell without a hat-trick of Premier League wins for Newcastle.
It never happened under Bruce. The best he did was back-to-back victories.

You have to go back to November 2018 for the last time the Magpies won three Premier League games in a row. That was when Benitez was manager, at the beginning of his final season at St James’ Park.
His side beat Watford and Bournemouth at home, then went to Burnley on November 26th and won 2-1.
Three and a bit years later and Newcastle haven’t won three league games on the bounce since. Howe can write his own piece of Toon history with another victory on Sunday.
