Eddie Howe is not afraid to give youth a chance at Newcastle United.
Various youngsters have made their Newcastle United debuts under Eddie Howe, who has created a clear path for promising talent to graduate from the academy to the first-team.
Lewis Miley was last season’s revelation, while Elliot Anderson was loved by Howe before he was sold to Nottingham Forest for PSR reasons.
The Magpies are now waiting for the next young star to emerge. Trevan Sanusi made his Newcastle debut in the FA Cup against Bromley, while various other teenagers have trained with the first-team ahead of Saturday’s game against Manchester City.

The 15-year-old who trained with Newcastle United’s first-team this week
Sean Neave was in Newcastle training this week, as was Leo Shahar. Both players are 17-years-old and will hopefully have bright futures at St James’ Park.
However, they were not the youngest players who Eddie Howe called up at Newcastle United’s training ground.
According to the Daily Mail, Sam Alabi has trained with the Newcastle United first-team this week at the age of 15-years-old.
That is quite the show of faith from Howe, and it should give Alabi a real confidence boost. He will also have benefitted from training alongside elite stars like Sandro Tonali and Alexander Isak, as they showcase the level he needs to get to if he is to become a Premier League star.
Who is Newcastle United teenager Sam Alabi?
Alabi signed for Newcastle United in 2023, arriving from Oldham Athletic.
He is a left-footed central midfielder, and made his Under-18 Premier League debut for Newcastle United when he was just 14-years-old. Alabi made three substitute appearances last season, and is now becoming more prominent.
This season has seen Alabi make 10 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League, five of which were starts. He also made two appearances in this season’s FA Youth Cup.
The Daily Mail report that Alabi has ‘a great shape about him and nice technique’, and it will be interesting to see how he develops over the coming years.
Given the fact he has already been given first-team exposure, the sky is surely the limit.
Alabi’s next goal will be to continue establishing himself at Under-18 level before going on to play for the Under-21s.
