Darren Bent makes laughable prediction on what Alexander Isak will tell Newcastle United officials in 2025 amid Arsenal interest

Newcastle United know they have a fight on their hands to keep Alexander Isak.

The 25-year-old is unsurprisingly a man in demand, with Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever now one of the best forwards on the planet.

Eddie Howe thinks Alexander Isak can be one of the world’s best players, which highlights the need for Newcastle United to match that ability.

While the talk over Alexander Isak’s future is a bit of a storm in a teacup, there is an obvious need for the Magpies to return to the Champions League. Whether he signs a new contract or not, Isak will have ambitions of playing at the highest level.

The hope will be that he can do that on Tyneside, and it has recently been claimed that Newcastle believe Isak is fully committed to their project.

Darren Bent wants Alexander Isak at Arsenal

However, Darren Bent thinks that could change if Eddie Howe’s side finish as low as ninth in the Premier League this season.

He has been speaking about Isak on the latest episode of The Football Fill-In on YouTube, admitting that he would love the Sweden international to replace Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal. The Gunners were linked with the Swede at the start of the summer, while Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Arsenal are still interested in Isak.

“Jesus doesn’t look sharp either,” he said.

“I think the reason he doesn’t get more minutes is he’s not disciplined enough to stay in his area. He’ll be going into the number 10 spot, going out to the left taking up Martinelli’s spot, going out to the right.

“I think that’s why Arteta is like ‘no, I can’t trust you to stay there’. I think come the end of the season they probably move him on.

“I would love Arsenal to go get Isak. That’s the one that suits the profile for Arsenal. But it’s going to cost you a lot of money.

“Maybe it might come down to Isak. If Newcastle finish ninth, Isak might go ‘listen, Arsenal, Champions League, come on’.”

Newcastle and Isak will let the football do the talking

There appears to be a media obsession with Alexander Isak leaving Newcastle United and signing for Arsenal.

There is a real arrogance to it. You would not think that only four points separated Newcastle United and Arsenal, who are not guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League themselves.

If Newcastle and Isak can perform at a high enough level then the transfer talk will be irrelevant. The forward is happy on Tyneside, while any suitor would have to play well over £100million to land him.

Arsenal had their chance to buy Isak when he was at Real Sociedad, and they blew it. Newcastle took their chance, and are now reaping the rewards.

The hope will be that they continue to reap those rewards for as long as possible, despite all the background noise.
