Dan Burn is looking forward to playing alongside Yoane Wissa in a Newcastle United shirt following his deadline day arrival.

Newcastle bought Yoane Wissa from Brentford on the final day of the summer transfer window. He cost £55million in total, becoming one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings ever.

The 29-year-old was the final player to arrive at St James’ Park this summer, with Newcastle making six senior signings in total. However, it is certainly a case of last but not least.

In fact, Toon fans actually ended up waiting a very long time to see Wissa join the club.

That was summed up perfectly by Dan Burn when he met his new teammate for the first time.

Dan Burn says ‘about time’ after Newcastle United sign Yoane Wissa

The club have shared a video on their official TikTok account of Burn meeting Wissa at the Newcastle United training ground on transfer deadline day.

The pair embrace in the hallway, with Burn having a few simple words for the Magpies’ new number nine.

The 33-year-old said: “Yes mate! How are you? About time eh!”

Burn is obviously referring to the drawn out saga that was Wissa’s move to Newcastle United.

For a long time, there was confidence within St James’ Park that a deal was close to completion. However, that constantly proved not to be the case.

The situation got so desperate that Newcastle suddenly felt like the Wissa deal was beyond them, only for an agreement to be reached on deadline day.

How tall is Dan Burn compared to Nick Woltemade?

Wissa is not the only new striker in town, with Newcastle signing Nick Woltemade too.

The 23-year-old has cost £69million from Stuttgart, becoming Newcastle United’s new record signing ahead of Alexander Isak.

Standing at 6ft 6in tall, Woltemade adds incredible height to the Newcastle United squad. However, he is not quite as tall as Toon defender Dan Burn.

He remains the tallest player at Newcastle United, coming in at 6ft 7in tall.
