Newcastle United celebrated a historic Carabao Cup win by parading the trophy through the streets.

It was an event like very few fans have seen before. Newcastle United returned to Tyneside with a trophy and decided to celebrate in style as 300,000 supporters turned up to get a glimpse of it.

The club’s open-top bus parade and subsequent Town Moor celebrations proved to be a massive success, creating some fantastic memories for both the players and the fans.

Bruno Guimaraes was in high spirits at the event, regularly taking the microphone from Geordie duo Ant and Dec to sing songs about his fellow teammates, including an unexpected X-rated version of the Sandro Tonali chant.

Dan Burn was the hero at Wembley in March after he scored Newcastle’s first goal at the ground since 2000 on the way to the cup win. Arne Slot admitted Burn’s goal was one of a kind, saying he had never seen a header scored like that before.

The 32-year-old took centre stage during the celebrations to round off a truly memorable month for him, the cup win came just a couple of days after Thomas Tuchel handed Burn his first England call-up.

With the Carabao Cup win undoubtedly living long in the memory, Burn has shared his honest opinion on the future of the club and their celebrations if they ever win a trophy again.

Dan Burn thinks Newcastle United fans have peaked

Growing up a supporter of the Magpies, Burn is living every Newcastle fan’s dream. It seemed written in the stars that Burn would score at Wembley, and he did it in emphatic fashion.

Burn admitted he is sick of seeing his goal, but fans will be playing it on repeat for years to come.

The Blyth-born defender sat alongside Kieran Trippier with Andy Sixsmith to reflect on the previous month and the trophy celebrations, to which Burn admitted that he does not see any celebrations getting much better than what transpired in March.

“You could just see how much it meant to the city,” Burn said.

“It was crazy. If we win another cup, it won’t be like that again. That day was a point in history for Newcastle United.”

His comments were echoed by Trippier, who said: “There was a video of one lad who fell out of a tree! Just crazy. But they’re the best supporters in England, and I’m so happy for them to finally experience this.”

Dan Burn set to feature for Newcastle United vs Leicester City

While the players continue to remember the brilliant cup celebrations in March, the focus is now on securing Champions League football for Newcastle.

Leicester are still fighting for survival, so the game is not a foregone conclusion, but Eddie Howe will be keen to continue Newcastle’s good run of form at the King Power Stadium.

Burn is expected to start against Leicester after avoiding any injury scares in the win against Brentford last week.

Elsewhere, Howe will make calls on the likes of Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak, who have both been struggling with injuries.
