Newcastle United defender Dan Burn believes that Kieran Trippier was an important signing for the club. The local lad believes that he helped kickstart the January window well and is a great character in the squad.
Burn was asked about the England international and what it’s like to have him in the squad on Sky Sports’ YouTube channel.
“It got the ball rolling as well, they needed someone like that to start bringing the players in,” he said.
“His mentality, obviously. He’s played at the very top. It rubs off on people just when you see how professional he is.”
The Dan Burn interview was not just a great insight into him but also Ryan Fraser. The Scotland international was there too and spoke on his poor first season with the club.

Trippier’s return from injury will a huge boost for Newcastle
The Dan Burn interview mostly highlighted what Kieran Trippier offers off the pitch. But on the pitch, he’s been able to show that he’s still a top full-back. His injury against Aston Villa was a huge blow and hopefully he’s back sooner rather than later.
Burn and the rest of the defence have coped without him and have climbed up the Premier League table. But it makes you think just what are they capable of when he’s back?
The same applies to Callum Wilson too who has been injured since December. The Magpies have the potential to be even more of a threat than they are next season when the duo return.

As for Burn, he’s been one of the heroes of the second half of the season. He’s put in multiple top performances at centre-back. He was even named man of the match on his debut against Aston Villa.
The big defender has clearly built up a good relationship with Fraser based on the interview. Fraser has improved vastly since Howe’s arrival. He’s netted his first two league goals for the Toon since Howe took charge and looks totally reenergised.
Newcastle United have a tough test against Liverpool this weekend. The team will need all the backing they can get from a usually electric St James’ Park faithful.
