Journalist Craig Hope has shared how Newcastle United’s owners are really feeling about Eddie Howe amid rumours he could be replaced this summer.
News broke last night that Newcastle could be considering a move for Germany head coach and former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann as the hope to take the club to the next level.
Hope, however, shared on X last night that Newcastle’s owners are fully backing Howe and plan to have a very busy summer under his leadership.
Newcastle are 100% behind Howe at the moment
Plans are already underway for how Newcastle will attacking this summer window and without Dan Ashworth in the picture it’s very likely that Howe will be having a huge say on their potential signings.
Although they haven’t enjoyed the best of seasons with injuries piling up and an early Champions League exit, they’re still in the race for Europe and have a second quarter final of the season to look forward to.
Howe will be wanting to prove himself more than ever now as the pressure had started to build with their latest defeat causing them to fall down to 10th in the Premier League.
But it looks like he’s going to be given the chance to prove himself once again next year with what should be a much improved squad and with the likes of Sandro Tonali returning who will be like a new signing.
On X, Hope posted: “Reiterated today that Eddie Howe is the man Newcastle are invested in & believe in for the long term. Plans in the making for a busy summer.
“This comes after reports of interest in Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann in the German press earlier #nufc”.

Things could change quickly at Newcastle
The owners have full faith in Howe currently and it’s good to see them wanting stability in an era where clubs chop and change their managers every other month to try and find the right one.
Having said that, he does need to have a strong end to the season or he’ll be on very thin ice already coming into the new campaign and would pretty much have to hit the ground running.
Right now, there’s still plenty to play for, but in a few weeks times they could be out of the FA Cup and falling further and further behind the European spots heading for a mid-table or bottom half finish.
That would really test the owners’ patience and it would be interesting to see how much backing they’d give him in the summer.
