Wolves captain Conor Coady has said that St James’ Park is one of his two favourite away grounds to play at.
In an interview with the club’s official website, Coady said that it’s very close between the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and SJP.
When asked to name his favourite away ground, Coady said: “I love the new Tottenham one, it’s absolutely brilliant.
“I’ve always like St James’, it’s great when you go and play there. When we won there and ‘Doc’ [Matt Doherty] scored the winner in the last minute, it was a hell of a game.
“I’ll go Tottenham, closely followed by Newcastle. Burnley’s a tough place to go.
“Sometimes it might be a bit of a mentality thing if I’m honest, because you’re not going to London or a big northern ground, and it’s a tough place to play.”
Coady’s away record at SJP
As per Transfermarkt, Coady has played five times at St James’ Park during his Wolves career.
There have been two Wolves wins, a 2-1 victory in the 2018/19 Premier League season and a 2-0 triumph in the Championship in 2016/17.
There have also been two 1-1 draws; in each of the past two seasons.
Coady’s only loss at St James’ Park has been in the EFL Cup third round in 2016, when he was still playing as a midfielder.
